Microsoft made a pretty big announcement today. After years of rumors and speculation, they’ve finally introduced a solution business users have been eagerly awaiting – Office on the iPad! Nine months after the release of Office Mobile for the iPhone, the iPad version appears to have similar features, including creation, editing and viewing capabilities for Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. With credit to Apple, tablets didn’t really take off until the iPad came out, which many predicted would fail before it even debuted. But with hindsight always being 20/20, the tablet’s meteoric proliferation should sort of been a no-brainer. From the perspective of our personal lives, tablets allow us to easily shop, watch videos and movies, surf the web, and catch up on reading – all while being able to carry them around pretty much anywhere.
