Brendan works to develop, create and deliver top-quality content to better inform Brainshark’s target audience of current and prospective customers. He believes in the idea that “helping is the new marketing”, and through valuable thought leadership, businesses can build stronger relationships with buyers. Prior to joining Brainshark in 2012, he worked as a content strategist for a small venture capital firm in Boston. While there, he managed various elements of content creation (blogs, videos, eBooks) and distribution (newsletters, SEO, social media marketing). He’s also an experienced podcaster, having hosted a weekly series with key influencers in the areas of sales, marketing, product development and entrepreneurship. Before realizing his passion for content marketing, Brendan spent several years as a senior editor covering the information technology space. He also holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island.
Brendan’s Favorite Feature: Interactive Questions and Links. By adding questions or polls to your video presentations, you can gain valuable insight into the needs and interests of your viewers. Inserting clickable links that direct your audience to landing pages or other web resources is also a great way to draw attention to your calls to action.
Most Valuable Advice: Create Content with a Purpose: When developing videos (or any type of content) for marketing purposes, it’s important to always have a clear goal in mind. Whether it’s higher conversion rates, improved search rankings, or simply wider brand awareness, a sound strategy is essential to ensuring your content has the greatest possible impact.
