I remember sitting in my high school French class and really wanting to speak, but also equally not wanting to make a fool of myself. It would have been great to use a free tool to record myself speaking a script I wrote in French (in the privacy of my Leonardo DiCaprio-covered bedroom) and then send it online to Monsieur Lanciaux for review. But at the time, Al Gore had only just invented the Internet and that kind of technology wasn’t available.

The mobile business productivity space continues to expand! On Friday, June 14th, Microsoft launched Office Mobile for the iPhone, an app that allows you to view, create or edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents and view or edit (at a very basic level) PowerPoint files on the iPhone. The app is free but available only to existing Microsoft Office 365 subscribers.

I recently read a great article in the McKinsey Quarterly called Givers Take All by Adam Grant. The article discusses a team of Harvard psychologists that studied the U.S. intelligence system to determine what makes a unit effective.
