Hidden from search engines
Brainshark users always retain control of the distribution and access to their content. For all content created using Brainshark Presentations™, the links are fully hidden from external search. In other words, search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bingwill not include Brainshark presentations in search results. (Note: This is not the case with free myBrainshark presentations.)
Presentation-level security settings
By default, anyone who receives a link to a Brainshark presentation shared by the user will be able to play the presentation, which is ideal for sales and marketing content. If authors wish to limit viewing of the content to an intended audience, however, they can set presentation-specific passwords and/or limit viewing to people in certain locations using IP range restrictions. And for full privacy (e.g. for proprietary content), authors can require a user login and password. This is typically used for content intended for employees, partners or students for whom a Brainshark user ID is maintained. These users may or may not have authoring capabilities. If an author prefers to hide a presentation entirely, a ‘hide from search’ option will make it undiscoverable via presentation listings or search results.
Expiration dates
Additionally, for information such as a time-based offer or time-sensitive training material, authors can set presentation expiration dates, after which the presentation becomes inaccessible.
Optional SSL encryption
Lastly, while all Brainshark accounts require a secure login for user access, for organizations with specific concerns over the security of information transmitted over the web, Brainshark Presentations also offers the ability to have SSL encryption of user login credentials or full SSL encryption of all data passed to and from the system including all Brainshark presentation content.
