Brainshark On-Demand users can obtain extensive details on viewer behavior. Details are provided in email “view receipts” delivered instantly to the author (or others), or accessed online using the solution’s extensive reporting capabilities.
Online Reporting Options
The online video reporting capabilities allow users to start from one of over 20 report templates (or create and save their own templates) and access viewing data and question response data for specific presentations or across presentations. Users can specify columns, sort criteria, date ranges and filters using the intuitive reporting interface to generate reports instantly.
They can also schedule automatic reports (nightly, weekly, monthly), choose the desired format (HTML, PDF, CSV, XML), and specify the delivery method (email, FTP). The solution also provides visual dashboards showing key viewing information for each presentation, and many online video reports include graphs depicting viewing trends, such as viewer retention and views by hour/day/week/month.
Using Guestbooks & Tracking codes (“Who”)
Capturing data on who views a presentation can be done using a “guestbook” registration form – in which the author can specify up to 7 standard fields of information and up to 10 custom fields. Alternatively, users who are required to log in to view a presentation are automatically recorded without the need for a guestbook. And for outbound marketing campaigns, marketers can use personalized URL’s (PURL’s) to create unique links per recipient with unique tracking codes to determine viewer identities without a guestbook or login requirement.
Measure Content Consumption (“What”)
For every Brainshark presentation viewed, the author or sender can obtain the number and percentage of slides viewed, the total amount and percentage of audio played, and -- with Brainshark’s unique “Clickpath Tracking” capability – which slides were viewed and in what order, how much time they spent on each slide, and which attachments they downloaded. They can also see the percentage of viewers who watched a particular slide and the average slide view duration. If questions are included in a Brainshark presentation, the answers provided by viewers are available as well.
Know When Content is Consumed (“When”)
Brainshark On-Demand records the date and time when each and every presentation is viewed and the total viewing time. And with Brainshark’s Clickpath Tracking capability, it’s even possible to know how long each viewer spends on each slide.
Capture Viewing Location and Device Data (“Where”)
Based on IP address information, users can see visually which countries and which states in the U.S. their viewers are coming from. They can also see which views are coming from mobile devices, so they can assess the impact of the fast-moving mobility trends and plan accordingly.
Access to detailed viewing information makes Brainshark On-Demand not only a critical compliance solution for trainers and HR professionals but also a powerful prospecting solution for sales and marketing professionals. Users of Salesforce.com can have this information added automatically to Lead and Contact records in Salesforce when they use Brainshark’s optional Salesforce.com Connector. This information can also be passed to other CRM or marketing automation systems via the Brainshark API’s.
