Brainshark’s SlideShark App – for Managing and Distributing Presentations – Now Supports PDFs

"iOS Users Can Easily Present Various File Types, and Track When and How Sales Content is Being Viewed"

WALTHAM, Mass. — December 11, 2014 — Brainshark, Inc., delivering content-driven sales enablement solutions that close more deals, today announced that its popular SlideShark app – for presenting, sharing and tracking mobile sales presentations – now supports PDF files. This is a major milestone for SlideShark, currently used by millions to manage and track PowerPoints, and offers greater flexibility and convenience to its users. Available as part of SlideShark’s business version, SlideShark Team Edition, the new capabilities let users access, present and share PDF files from their iOS devices, and get detailed insight into viewing activity. The features add to SlideShark’s abilities to improve employee productivity, shorten sales cycles and help companies of all sizes ensure messaging is consistent.

Along with PowerPoints, PDFs are one of the most popular file types in a sales rep’s content arsenal and are often integral to sales conversations. With SlideShark’s new capabilities, reps and other users can maximize the use and results of their PDF datasheets, case studies, follow-up materials and more. Detailed analytics show when and how much of their PDFs have been viewed, helping to pinpoint when interest is hot. Organizations can also get detailed insight into how their sales teams and other employees are using and presenting PDF content.

Providing PDF support through the newly released SlideShark 4.0 is a big step for SlideShark, expanding it from a PowerPoint-focused app to a multi-file presentation and content management solution. SlideShark is already used in 160+ countries, with 200 million slides uploaded to the service and more than 45 industry awards – with recent wins in the Tabby Awards (“Best In-the-Field App,” “Best Presentation App,” “Best Sales App”), Stevie Awards (a “Product of the Year” in the American Business Awards), Appy Awards (“Best Business App”) and more. Organizations worldwide including NASA, Delta Dental, Guerbet LLC, Cleveland Construction, Australia’s Nine Network and more rely on the solution.

SlideShark treats PDF pages as separate slides – allowing users to navigate (using tapping/swiping motions), track, and hide or rearrange them. When accessing PDFs, users can take advantage of key SlideShark features on their iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, including the ability to:

  • Upload content via the Web, iOS device (“Open In” feature) or through SlideShark’s many integrations with cloud storage providers.

  • Present content live and dynamically – online or offline.

  • Use SlideShark’s laser pointer to focus attention.

  • Make annotations during a presentation.

  • Hide and/or reorder PDF pages.

  • Zoom in.

  • Project content to a TV or screen.

  • Tap to share PDFs via email, Facebook, Twitter and/or LinkedIn.

  • Track views on shared content, including who viewed the file type, when, from what device, how much was consumed and more.

  • Ensure version control at the organizational level, as updated files automatically override previous downloads wherever they exist.

  • And more.

As organizations often convert documents – such as Excel, Word and Keynote files – to PDFs to lock down and control content, those PDFs can now be viewed, tracked and presented in SlideShark as well. SlideShark PDF support is available to SlideShark Team Edition subscribers and Team Edition free trial users on their iOS devices, along with Brainshark Sales Accelerator customers who have SlideShark Team Edition activated.

“Sales meetings are not only about showing PowerPoint. We want salespeople to have the flexibility to present more than simply slides, and to also include other content types into the conversation – whether it be a marketing brochure or rate card,” said David Klein, Brainshark’s vice president of product management. “For several years now, companies around the world have greatly benefitted from using SlideShark to distribute, deliver, manage and track PowerPoints. Now salespeople can engage better in their conversations using SlideShark as a multi-file content solution.”
