Brainshark Appoints Mike Kunkle as Senior Director of Sales Enablement
WALTHAM, Mass. — October 7, 2015 — Brainshark, Inc., delivering SaaS-based sales enablement solutions, today announced the appointment of Mike Kunkle as senior director of sales enablement. Kunkle is a leading sales strategist, practitioner, speaker and writer with more than two decades of experience leading sales training, productivity and performance initiatives. He will manage Brainshark’s sales enablement function, bringing best practices and insights in this collaborative role, and working closely with the sales organization, marketing, product teams and executives.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Mike to the team,” said Brainshark CEO Joe Gustafson. “Mike’s philosophy and approach to sales readiness and success dovetail well with our own, and as we advance our own sales enablement function, it’s fitting for us to have a leader like Mike at the helm. His impressive track record and commitment to putting the customer’s needs at the center of the sales process will help Brainshark continue its leadership trajectory.”
After initial years on the front line in sales and sales management, Kunkle has spent the past 21 years as a corporate manager and consultant, helping companies drive dramatic sales results through best-in-class learning strategies and methodologies. As a result of Kunkle’s work, companies have grown revenue by hundreds of millions of dollars year-over-year, and newly hired sales reps with 120 days on the job have outperformed five-year incumbents.
Prior to Brainshark, Kunkle served as commercial training and development leader at GE Capital and as product development director for sales training products at Richardson. Kunkle has also directed sales training and performance development at companies including Household Finance; Hyatt Hotels Corporation; NovaStar Mortgage, Inc. and Insphere Insurance Solutions (now HealthMarkets). Kunkle serves as an advisory board member of the Sales Education Foundation. He is also a frequent speaker at industry events, and a prolific blogger and social influencer with more than 15,000 Twitter followers.
“As the sales enablement market heats up, it’s an exciting time to join Brainshark,” Kunkle said. “Brainshark’s solutions are perfectly positioned to help companies improve the results of their sales conversations.
