Brainshark Receives ThinkForward Award from Beagle Research for Supporting Sustainable Business Processes

"Brainshark Customers Are Cutting Travel, Print and Other Communication Costs by up to 90% While Reducing Carbon Footprint"

WALTHAM, Mass. — May 26, 2010 — Brainshark, Inc., the leader in on-demand multimedia for business, today announced that it has received a ThinkForward Award from software analyst firm Beagle Research Group, LLC. The ThinkForward Award program recognizes front office software companies that have demonstrated excellence in enabling sustainable business practices. Brainshark was honored for its Web-based platform, which lets companies create, narrate, share and track multimedia presentations – dramatically reducing companies' travel needs, and cutting communication costs by up to 90%.

"We launched the awards program this year to recognize forward-looking companies who – in a changing and challenging economy – have fostered customer cost savings and success through sustainability," said Denis Pombriant, Beagle Research managing principal. "We were particularly impressed by the substantial cost, ‘green' and productivity benefits realized by Brainshark's customers, and are pleased to recognize the company as an inaugural winner."

During the selection process, companies were evaluated on how they used sustainable practices to improve business processes, customer relationships and cost containment. With U.S. business travel topping $234 billion last year according to data from the National Business Travel Association, Brainshark's platform helps companies save millions by moving all or portions of their meetings to an online, multimedia format for asynchronous delivery. In addition to realizing significant cost savings, Brainshark customers also report improved business performance – such as accelerating time to market for new products, cutting training time in half, and improving lead generation results by five to 10 times and more.

Additionally, a carbon footprint study recently conducted by ICF International found that viewing a Brainshark presentation – rather than using alternate communication methods – dramatically reduces an organization's greenhouse gas emissions and overall carbon impact. For example, the carbon impact of watching a Brainshark presentation is 99.9% less than that of flying or driving, 97% less than mailing a CD-ROM and nearly 50% less than participating in a Web conference.

"We feel honored to have received this award from Beagle Research and are strong believers in the effective use of technology to further sustainable business practices," said Brainshark CEO Joe Gustafson. "Our platform lets organizations improve communications results and reach out to a vastly larger audience – without the need to travel or lose productive time, and while decreasing their carbon footprint."
