Preparing for an Event? Great Tips From Experts

Preparing for an Event? Great Tips From Experts
September 17, 2010

The success of an event is most often a function of the preparation that goes into it.  The best event producers, it follows, are generally the best event planners.  In the two short (and free) eLearning presentations highlighted below, Peter Muir, President of BIZUCate, delves into the finer points of successful pre-event planning; and Ken Molay, President of Webinar Success, covers the basics of putting on a successful webinar event.

In Peter Muir’s presentation “Pre-Event Strategies with a Multi-Channel Mix” produced in conjunction with Webinar Resources, he discusses how event planning and pre-event promotion has changed dramatically with the advent of communication tools like enewsletters, webinars, podcasts, and social media. He also discusses the importance of clearly defining what your audience should expect from the event, and engaging effectively with them in advance so you hit the mark.  Look at things from their perspective, he advises, and make sure to obtain their input when building your content.

Preparing for an event also requires paying close attention to LOTS of details, of course. If your event is a webinar, you need to consider not only the content and promotional strategies, but also things like your presenters’ speaking voices, the technology platform you’ll be using, and much more.  To help you plan and deliver a glitch-free webinar, check out the following presentation entitled “Webinar Basics” from Ken Molay, President of Webinar Success:
