Making Benefits Communications Special (and Spooky) at Ashland

Brainshark allowed our Communications and Corporate Affairs team at Ashland to develop an interactive, innovative and fun holiday-themed approach to advertise our upcoming benefits changes to our U.S. employees. Rolling out a high-level overview on this subject can be pretty dry, and our team knew we needed our message to be animated and attention-grabbing to set it apart from all the other in-box clutter.

 Brainshark proved to be the premier resource to make that happen. Developing our announcement around Halloween, I created a Flash animation encompassing costumed children trick-r-treating and discussing our open enrollment, calling it our Annual Benefits Spooktacular. Knowing that bandwidth could be an issue for our network, we needed to utilize a service that would allow us to upload the Flash video (.swf) to their site, and host the file along with a link to our employee meeting schedule and link to a short questionnaire for our employees. Again, Brainshark to the rescue with an all-in-one, sleek and user-friendly presentation format. Resulting in "spooktacular" feedback via our included survey, we had comments requesting Christmas-themed announcements in this same format, and employees telling us they've forwarded the message to external friends and family because they were so impressed.
