On May 19, our first Brainshark Success Tour of the spring season took place in Toronto. Co-sponsored by the U.S. Commercial Service, which is part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, we had a packed house of both customers and those interested in learning about Brainshark.
Thanks go out to Scott Bozek, the Consul for Commercial Affairs for kicking the event off. Carmen Taran from Rexi Media gave a very well-received talk about Effective Visual Presentations. Participants received a copy of her book, Better Beginnings and as an exercise, attendees wrote a haiku about PowerPoint. The one in Bold was the winner.
I see sleep around
These slides go on and on
When will this be over
We hate power-point
Need a substitute to help
Bring on Brainshark
Your animation
Is not really as clever
As you think it is
Death by PowerPoint
Sit in a classroom for hours
Try to stay awake
The next stops on the tour are Stamford, CT (June 7), New York City (June 8), Princeton, NJ (June 9) and Cincinnati (June 23). U.K.-based m62 Visual Communications will keynote, and there will be a Customer User Group following the main presentation. To register, click here
Feel free to submit your own Brainshark or PowerPoint haiku in the comments section if you think your writing skills can compete.
