How to Add Internal Hyperlinks to PowerPoint Presentations

It’s no secret that when delivering a PowerPoint presentation, sometimes you need to go outside the realm of your slide deck to reinforce your message.

Obviously, this is pretty easy – just insert a hyperlink like you would in any other Office document, then click on it to exit your presentations to visit a website, show a video, and so on.

But did you know you can also insert internal hyperlinks to jump to different slides within your presentation? This could be useful when delivering sales presentations where you might want to seamlessly skip over parts of your deck to get to something your audience has more interest in. As with normal hyperlinks, you can use internal hyperlinks when presenting PowerPoint slides from your iPad as well with SlideShark.

Internal hyperlinks in PowerPoint are incredibly easy to create. All you have to do is:

  • Highlight the text or graphic you want to hyperlink

  • Right-click and select the Hyperlink option

  • Under the Link to: menu on the left, choose “Place in the Document”

  • Simply select the slide you want to link to, and click OK
