The eLearning market is explosive. Upside Learning cites stats that 44% of organizations plan to purchase online learning tools and systems, 41% are exploring formal Learning Management Systems (LMSs), and 37% plan on purchasing authoring tools/systems.

And the numbers back it up.

The LMS market is over $2 billion, and continues to grow. Think that’s big? The worldwide market for self-paced eLearning reached $42.7 billion in 2013, with revenues projected to reach $53 billion by 2018.

As technology evolves, preferences for certain devices and platforms are becoming more and more polarized, according to Verto Analytics. In order to meet your workforce where they are—on the devices where they feel most comfortable—it will be important to tailor your eLearning such that they won’t have to adjust. Rather, they can seamlessly complete training modules in the comfort of their OS of choice. You’ll be happy, and so will they.

#3 Increase employee mobility

We live in a multi-device world, and it’s time we start learning accordingly. Portable devices allow us to move easily between screens—whether it’s a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone—to achieve a single task. In fact, in Google’s study, The New Multi-screen World: Understanding Cross-platform Consumer Behavior, 90% of those surveyed use multiple screens sequentially to accomplish a task over time, and 98% do so within a single day. Mobile-ready learning would enable companies to seamlessly train a dispersed audience— from the ever-mobile sales rep to employees who frequently travel or work remotely.
